AustinUP Welcomes Char Hu

AustinUP is proud to welcome Char Hu to our board. Char received his doctorate in molecular biophysics from Baylor College of Medicine where he studied protein folding, one of the proposed underlying mechanisms for Alzheimer’s disease. While in graduate school, his grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and required the care of a long-term care facility. During this process, Char and his family saw a need to create a new model of Alzheimer’s and dementia care, so they founded Georgetown Living. They have now grown to incorporate in-home healthcare in addition to their award-winning, evidence-based design communities. He is also co-founder of two software companies that develop solutions for aging-related consumers.
